Here are some foods with a high
glycemic index. They should be avoided, reduced in our diets, or
at least balanced by lower glycemic index foods (such as combining
wheat flour with other whole grains):
- sugar, honey, syrups
- potatoes, mashed
potatoes
- corn flakes, rice
krispies, all other bleached
or sweetened cereals
- james and jellies
- fruit cooked in
sugar, fruit in syrup
- sweetened drinks,
sodas
- industrial fruit
juices
- alcohol (except
during meals)
