Turkey traffic

Turkey Mating season courtship dance.

We get a fair amount of turkey traffic patrolling our garden area.

I wonder if the Ozark turkey trap would work if we got really hungry?

Good thing we have the big garden fence next on the list of things to do.

We learned at the recent Maker Space tour that their Tool Library has one of those motorized Earth augers for digging deep post holes which I think we'll experiment with and see if it's good enough for the dirt we are dealing with.

I know those motorized Earth augurs work here in NE TN as I have watched neighbors use them to dig post holes. Since we have the (expletive deleted) red clay that's like concrete, I'd say that whatever type of ground you have, it should probably work as well.

Turkeys! Nearly ran over one the other day as it was crossing the road. (No "why did the turkey cross the road jokes here, please.) :)

A good friend of mine and a member of the FWC board, was invited to a wild turkey dinner last week. I asked him how it compared to a store bought turkey and he said it tasted about the same and was wonderful. You might find a way to kill one or more as they strut through your yard!

We sprang for an auger a few years ago like the one in your link. I LOVE it. It couldn't make it through some seriously dry hardpan but did just fine 10ft away. Trouble with rocks like any rotary tool that digs. But man, is it ever helpful if you have a lot of holes to dig.
