Estimating wire length using a string

Estimating wire length

6-3 wire for an electric range costs $2.79 per foot.

At that price, it's essential to guess your distances correctly.

Running a string from the fuse box to the stove is a good start. Then add 15% for wiggle room.

Was there no wiring in the "new" trailer, or are you just adding for the new heat pump water heater circuit?

Zimmy --- Yeah, that sounds like it could cost not just an arm and a leg but maybe two of each. :-)

Eric --- This one we're adding is for the stove and we'll be doing one for the minisplit soon. There actually was wiring for the hot water heater (although I had to change it to a new breaker to accommodate the one we bought). Learning a lot about electricity in the process!
