Biggest flood of 2013

big flood at the end of 2013

How do I measure the "size" of an event like one of our creek floodings?

I'd say it's a mixture of how long it takes the water to drop to a safe hip wader depth and the duration of the rain fall.

Looks like you're somewhere between driving through and paddling through this temporary lake! Perhaps a sturdy inflatable raft would get you out to your parking area on days like these when ya just gotta go to the store. ;)

In Iowa we go from floods to droughts back to floods again. It seems we never have just a regular season around here. I'd rather have the flooding compared to a drought though. Lack of water is good for absolutely nothing.
