With your good ideas for impoving life with contraptions, you really need to learn how to weld. You can get scrap iron for free or cheap, and buy a cheap 110V welder that you can run with your generator, and you will have contraptions that last a lifetime.
Craig-Thanks for the kind words. Making it out of metal would last longer, but it's harder to correct mistakes when something gets welded and my welding skill level is poor when it comes to holding the welder in the right spot.
You may want to keep an eye on the can that is close to the exhaust. It could potentially melt the can. I second the welding, the only way to get better is to keep practicing on projects like this.
