- 2 c. sugar
- 1.75 c. white flour
- 0.75 c. cocoa
- 1.5 tsp. baking soda
- 1.5 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 0.5 c. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. boiling water
This cake is a basic, fluffy
chocolate a lot like the ones you'd get out of a box. The recipe
comes off the box of Hershey's Cocoa.
Preheat the oven to 350
F. Grease two 9 inch round cake pans.
Stir together sugar,
flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in large bowl.
Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Beat on medium speed of mixer
for two minutes.
Stir in boiling water
--- this makes the batter very thin, so don't try to bake it in a two
part pan! Pour batter into prepared pans and bake for 30 to 35
minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
