Particle board ATV

particle board hauling with a 4 wheeler

4 wheeler hauling 4x8 boardsOur golf cart problem means that the barn floor project might need to wait.

"That won't be a problem" was our new hired helper's response.

He brought along a rear wheel drive ATV and made short work of hauling back the barn floor panels.

It sure is wonderful to have the finaces to give a good worker a job.

This has really helped you get some of those jobs done around your homestead.

We feel spoiled rotten to make some of the things on our long term wish list happen much faster than we expected. Who knows how much we'll be able to pay for when the peak chicken waterer season passes by (around July or August), but for now, we figured we should take advantage of such amazing skill while we can! It's also nice to spread a bit of money out into the community since the per capita income here is $15,073 per year and 16.8% of people are living below the poverty line.

(Can you tell I'm trying not to feel guilty for not doing the work ourselves? :-) )

Your carpenter guy sounds so easy going! I love it! After the barn, what's next? Incidentally, wondering if you ever think about perusing your older posts and having an epic update on old stories? I wonder about your mushrooming efforts, how much food you put away last winter versus how much you ate, and how your diet has changed (how personal of me!) over the last year, how your mom is doing...

Jen G --- He really is the most amazing helper you could imagine. Mark and I are both in love (platonically, of course. :-) )

I'm always happy to do updates, but I think I don't always focus on the things people are most interested in. (For example, the update I most want to write is in collecting urine for fertilizer. :-) ) Maybe I should post a call for update suggestions? In addition to your questions, I've had a couple of requests to do an update on our biochar.

Your update ideas are good! Maybe if we talk about pee more often, then it will start to be less taboo. Bio char is a good topic too. Have you thought about adding a direct link on your website your recipes page? And one on the avianaquamiser site directly to the webcam?

I've been meaning to put a link on Avian Aqua Miser's sidebar to the webcam, but kept forgetting. I need to do a website overhaul over there this summer sometime, so I'll add that to the list. :-)

I used to have a link on this site's sidebar to the recipe page, but then I started posting recipes under the "cooking" tag instead, and didn't want to link just to old recipes. Actually, I haven't really decided when to post recipes --- sometimes it seems silly to "waste" a blog post on them, but I do like being able to refer back easily to find tasty eats. :-)
