Blueberry hill

mulching blueberry hill in 2012

It's a genuine thrill to have all our blueberry rows layered with cardboard and heavily mulched with 2 year old wood chips.

A serene scene, indeed! How many blueberry bushes do you have total and in how many rows? I noticed the beds are partly edged with logs/branches, but I don't remember seeing any edging with your other garden beds - is there a reason for that?

Mitsy --- We have 15 bushes in four rows. (The last two rows are shorter.)

You can read my post about edging the blueberry beds here. The short answer is --- there were lots of logs up there I needed to get rid of.... :-)

Hubby was finally released by the heart doctors in Portland. We were able to go home (300 miles away) yesterday.

I have been so worried that my gardens would be all dried up. I prayed to God to keep my gardens healthy. So It has been raining regularly which is very unusaul for our neck of the woods.

My blueberrys, rasberrys, red currents and strawberrys are loaded.

Thank you God.

Glad you found your thrill On Blueberry hill

Does look very nice and neat. I'm sure that you will get a bumper crop for years to come!

Mona --- I'm glad to hear your husband got to come home!

Eric --- Mark was explaining to me that this was a TV/pop culture reference. It went straight over my head and I'm very glad someone caught it. :-)
